Iridium plugs have a higher melting point, even higher than platinum tipped plugs. An expensive spark-plug will not give more horsepower. it'll just ensure a more thorough combustion. iridium plugs have proven to be better suited for force-fed cars such as ones with turbo or nitrous. if your car is NA you'd be better off with platinum tip plugs which would be cheaper and would give the same result as Iridium ones on ur stock vehicle. Go for Splitfire Platinum plugs. they'd cost you around 1800 bucks. i'm using them on my 1.6 GTi aswell and they have clocked 50,000+ kms and are still going strong. The model no. for our particular vehicle is TP-392C. Might not be easy to get them off the shelf since the more common ones are TP-522D. do no, i repeat, do not get those. they're meant for our current model Civics. Cheers!
