What is difference b/w Super Charged or Turbo

What is the basic difference between Super Charge or Turbo Charged or Intercooler Turbo? Which one is more effective.

Both have similar purposes i.e. supercharging the intake charge. Turbo chargers are exhaust driven turbines whilst supercharger are belt or chin driven. Supercharger's make away with annoyances like turbolag etc but contribute to more parasitic drag on the engine itself and are noisier.
Intercoolers are usually Air to Air unit installed to cool the compressed air sent into the engine by the Turbo/Superchargrs.
