hello!
1st of all you have to know that what is octane....so Octane is measurement to a mixture of isooctane (an isomer of octane) and n-heptane. A low octane rating means that the fuel has a high capacity to autoignite, means it is for engine with low compression like mostly 800-1300cc have...
high-octane gas is designed to burn slower than regular, making it less likely to ignite without benefit of spark in severe hot temp...
High octane is specified so high compression engines so that it can't auto-ignite before spark hits.....using regular on high compression engines might do this and as a result....Knocking occurs...
Knocking is a pinging like sound you heared when fuel ignites before spark hits....
Many high-performance engines are designed to operate with a high compression and thus need a high quality fuel usually associated with high octane numbers, and thus demand high-octane premium gasoline.
here mostly we get Premium was 87 octane whereas HOBC here was 92 as they said...with lead addictives.....
Thanxxx
