When to have Tappet Adjustment (Honda CITY)?

Some say that regular Tappet Adjustment is a good thing - but what is the ideal frequency?

Is it something that we need to do as part of regular maintenance or should it be done only when there is a problem?

Is there any harm in doing it too many time?

What does HONDA recommends for it's new cars e.g. CITY 2009?

Not required at all unless yout car shows symptoms of a problem leading to tappet adjustment like

Over-Heating
Starting problem
Missfiring
Extra fuel consumption
Etc
