The MG HS was initially equipped with an automatic emergency braking system designed to stop the car in traffic jams and when something suddenly comes in front of the vehicle. However, this feature was causing accidents and troubling drivers in Pakistan. MG has disabled the automatic emergency braking system in the HS Essence due to incompatibility with Pakistani roads and driving conditions.

MG Motor Pakistan has disabled the automatic emergency braking AEB system in the locally assembled MG HS models due to incompatibility with local driving conditions. The system was reportedly causing unintended braking incidents, particularly in scenarios involving sudden obstacles like plastic bags o r debris on the road. As a result, MG decided to deactivate this feature to enhance driver safety and prevent potential accidents.
