Why do I smell burning o r notice a burnt odor near my Tiggo 4’s transmission? Could it be due to fluid leakage?

A burning smell can occur when transmission fluid leaks onto hot engine o r exhaust components. This not only produces odor but also risks fire and accelerates wear in the transmission. Detecting and repairing leaks immediately, while topping up the fluid, is essential to avoid serious damage.

A burning smell can result from transmission fluid leaking onto hot engine o r exhaust components. Causes include:

Fluid dripping from a leak onto hot parts of the car.

Overheating transmission due to low fluid levels from a leak.

This is a serious warning sign. Immediate repair of the leak and topping up fluid are needed to prevent major transmission damage.
