Why do MG HS tyres wear out quickly in Pakistans road conditions?
Im an MG HS owner in Pakistan and have noticed that my tyres seem to wear out faster than expected, even with regular alignment and balancing. I mostly drive within city limits and occasionally on highways. Could it be due to the OEM tyre quality o r suspension setup? Are other MG HS owners in Pakistan facing the same rapid tyre wear issue, and what are the best replacement options for local road conditions?

Rapid tyre wear on the MG HS is a commonly reported issue among owners in Pakistan. Several factors contribute to this problem:
OEM Tyre Quality:
The MG HS often comes equipped with Chinese o r budget-range tyres as original equipment. These may not be designed for the harsh road conditions, high temperatures, and frequent braking/acceleration patterns common in urban Pakistani driving. Their tread compound may be softer, leading to quicker wear.
Road Conditions:
Roads in many Pakistani cities have potholes, unpaved sections, and poorly maintained tarmac, which increase stress on tyres. Constant bumping and uneven surfaces cause irregular tread wear.
Wheel Alignment & Suspension:
If your suspension o r alignment isn’t checked regularly, uneven tyre wear becomes more likely. The MG HS has a European-style suspension setup, which may not handle Pakistani roads as well, especially if the vehicle is frequently loaded o r driven aggressively.
Tyre Pressure Mismanagement:
Many owners dont check o r maintain the correct tyre pressure, either over-inflating for fuel economy o r under-inflating for comfort. Both situations can cause premature wear, especially on the shoulders o r center of the tyre.
Driving Style & Load:
Sudden braking, acceleration, and carrying excess load in the vehicle can also contribute to quicker tread loss.
Recommendations:
Replace OEM tyres with trusted brands like Michelin, Continental, Dunlop, o r Yokohama, depending on your budget.
Get wheel alignment and balancing done every 5,000–7,000 km.
Frequently check tyre pressure and rotate tyres every 10,000 km.
