Boarding houses in Pakistan commonly face challenges in providing consistent utilities. Electricity load-shedding is frequent, and many facilities do not have a reliable backup system such as a generator o r UPS. Water supply issues occur due to weak water pressure, limited storage, o r poorly maintained pipelines, causing shortages at peak times. Wi-Fi tends to be slow o r unstable because hostels often install a single connection shared by many boarders, resulting in bandwidth overload. These issues usually stem from outdated infrastructure, high occupancy levels, and cost-cutting measures by management.
