Why does my Hyundai Oshan X7 overheat in traffic but stay cool on the highway?

My SUV runs fine on long drives, but the temperature needle rises quickly in city traffic. Could this be due to a radiator leak o r related cooling system issue?

This is a classic sign of insufficient airflow o r a coolant flow issue, often linked to a failing o r leaking radiator. Key causes:

At high speed, air naturally cools the radiator. In traffic, you depend on the radiator fan.

If the radiator is leaking o r partially clogged, it can’t maintain pressure, reducing cooling efficiency.

A faulty radiator fan, thermostat, o r low coolant level from a slow leak can trigger overheating in stop-and-go conditions.

Fix:

Inspect the radiator fan and relay.

Check for coolant leaks, especially around the radiator base and lower hoses.

Flush the cooling system if sludge o r rust is visible.
