Why does my MG HS driver-side window stop working randomly?

My MG HS’s driver-side power window sometimes refuses to go up o r down. It works fine for a few days and then randomly stops working. I’ve tried turning the car on/off, but it doesn’t always help. Has anyone else in Pakistan faced this issue? Is it a motor problem o r a wiring issue?

This is a relatively common issue reported by MG HS owners in Pakistan. If the driver-side window works intermittently, it could be due to:

Faulty Window Switch: The main culprit is often the master switch on the driver’s door. Over time, the contacts inside the switch wear out o r get dirty.

Loose Wiring o r Connector: The wiring harness running through the driver’s door might have a loose connection, especially where the door opens and closes frequently.

Weak Motor: If the motor is overheating o r getting weak, it may stop working temporarily.

What to do:

Have the switch tested and cleaned o r replaced if needed.

Ask your MG service center to check the wiring harness inside the door.

Avoid pressing the switch rapidly o r forcefully, which could worsen the problem.
