Why does my MG HS remote key sometimes fail to lock o r unlock the doors?

I’ve noticed that sometimes when I press the lock o r unlock button on the remote key, nothing happens. I have to press it multiple times, o r go closer to the car. It’s inconsistent and frustrating. Has anyone else in Pakistan experienced this? Could it be a battery issue o r something wrong with the car’s receiver?

This is a frequent issue experienced by MG HS owners in Pakistan. The problem could be inconsistent signal transmission o r a weak key fob battery. In many cases:

The key fob battery is low, which reduces its effective range.

Interference from other electronic devices o r crowded urban areas like shopping centers o r underground parking can affect signal reception.

The receiver in the car may have issues o r lag in response due to software bugs.

What you can do:

Replace the key fob battery usually a CR2032 coin cell.

Try using the spare key to rule out problems with one fob.

Visit an MG dealership to scan the receiver module and check for firmware updates.
