Why does one door stay unlocked even after locking my MG HS?

Occasionally, when I press the lock button, three doors lock but one — usually the rear left — stays unlocked. I have to manually lock it from the inside. Is this a common issue in MG HS units in Pakistan? Is it a faulty actuator o r software glitch?

This issue is commonly due to a faulty door lock actuator, which is the motor inside each door that engages the locking mechanism. If one door often a rear one stays unlocked:

The actuator may be weak o r failing — common in humid o r dusty conditions in Pakistan.

There could be a loose connector o r broken wire between the control unit and the door.

In rare cases, it could be a software glitch in the central locking system.

What you can do:

Visit an authorized MG service center to diagnose the affected door actuator.

If under warranty, request a free replacement of the actuator.

Get the wiring checked inside the door panel.
