Why does the Kia Stonic windshield develop scratches so quickly in Pakistan?
Many Kia Stonic owners in Pakistan have reported that their windshields start showing visible scratches within a few months of use. Is this due to poor glass quality, faulty wipers, o r environmental factors like dust? What can be done to prevent o r reduce this issue?

Some owners believe that local environmental factors — lots of fine dust, sand, and grit on roads, especially unpaved o r poorly maintained ones — contribute heavily to scratching. Over time, small particles under the wiper blades o r wind flow can wear the glass.
The wiper blades themselves can be part of the problem: if they are low quality rubber wears down, edges get hard o r cracked they drag abrasive particles across the glass instead of wiping them clean.
Also, UV exposure and heat cycles can weaken the finish o r make micro‑defects worse over time.
What is uncertain / less reported:
It’s not clear if the glass used in all Kia Stonic units in Pakistan is of consistently high scratch resistance. There haven’t been many formal reports o r tests comparing OEM glass vs. aftermarket glass in terms of scratch durability.
Whether dealers o r service centres offer “glass with better scratch resistance” as part of accessories o r upgrades is seldom confirmed.
What can be done / preventive tips:
Regular cleaning of windshield: wash off dust before using wipers.
Replace wiper blades when they start to deteriorate use good quality OEM o r high‑quality aftermarket blades.
Use protective films o r coatings if available.
Park in shade o r use a cover to avoid excessive UV/heat which could weaken outer layers of the glass.
