Why Does the Steering of My MG HS Feel Heavy at Low Speeds?

Ive noticed that the steering wheel on my MG HS feels unusually heavy when maneuvering at low speeds, such as during parking o r tight turns. Is this a normal behavior for the electronic power steering EPS, o r could there be an issue with the EPS motor, steering fluid, o r alignment?

MG HS comes with Electronic Power Steering EPS, which should ideally be light at low speeds and tighten up at higher speeds. If its feeling unusually heavy when parking o r maneuvering:

Possible causes:

EPS calibration issue – software glitches in the power assist system.

Low voltage o r weak battery – EPS motors rely on electrical current a weak battery can reduce steering assist.

Faulty EPS motor o r sensor – may fail intermittently, especially in hot conditions.

Tire pressure – under-inflated front tires make steering feel heavy.

Action:

Check tire pressure and inflate to recommended levels.

Get the battery tested – even a minor in voltage can affect EPS.

Visit a service center for EPS recalibration o r diagnostics.
