Why is my Hyundai Oshan X7’s steering unusually stiff at low speeds o r during parking?

I’ve noticed that the steering on my Oshan X7 becomes harder than usual when turning at low speeds o r while parking. Could this be an issue with the electric power steering system, o r something mechanical?

The Oshan X7 uses Electric Power Steering EPS, which should provide smooth and light steering, especially at low speeds. If it feels stiff, possible causes include:

EPS motor issues: The electric motor may be weak, worn, o r overheating.

Low battery voltage: EPS relies on stable voltage a weak battery can reduce steering assist.

Software glitches: Sometimes the EPS control module needs recalibration.

Suspension o r steering linkage friction: Dry o r worn-out components like ball joints o r tie rods can also make steering feel heavy.

What to do:

Have the EPS motor and fuse system checked by a qualified technician.

Get the battery tested – low voltage often affects EPS performance.
