Why is my Kia Sorento misfiring and consuming more fuel? Ignition coil issue?

I have a 2017 Kia Sorento in Pakistan, and lately, Ive noticed the engine misfiring, poor acceleration, and higher fuel consumption. A local mechanic suggested it might be a faulty ignition coil. Is this a common issue with Sorento models here? How can I confirm if the ignition coil is the real problem before replacing it?
