Why is my MG HS leaking transmission fluid only after washing the car?

I’ve noticed that after washing my MG HS, there’s a fresh red fluid leak from underneath. It doesn’t appear otherwise. Could the wash be causing o r revealing a transmission fluid leak? Should I be worried about water affecting transmission seals o r the DCT system?

Washing the car can temporarily reveal o r worsen a transmission fluid leak because:

Water pressure may force fluid out of small cracks o r worn seals.

Water can clean grime and oil, making leaks more visible.

If water seeps into damaged seals, it may exacerbate the leak o r cause corrosion.

While water itself doesn’t cause leaks, it can accelerate seal degradation if leaks already exist. After washing, if leaks appear, get the transmission system inspected immediately.
