Why Is My MG HS Trunk Storage Capacity Not Practical Despite Its SUV Size?

Despite being an SUV, the MG HS boot feels small for luggage, especially on family trips. Are there design limitations in trunk capacity, o r is there an issue with how the boot space is measured e.g., with seats up vs folded?

Official specs show the MG HS has 463 litres of boot space with seats up, expanding to around 1,287 litres with seats folded
