“Why is my Tesla Model 2 battery draining faster in Pakistan’s hot climate?”

“Why is my Tesla Model 2 battery draining faster in Pakistan’s hot climate?”

I’ve noticed that my Tesla Model 2 loses charge quicker during the day, especially when parked outside. Pakistan’s temperatures can get extremely high, and I suspect the battery cooling system is running more often. Is excessive battery drain normal in such weather, and what steps can I take to reduce it?

Yes, faster battery drain in high heat is normal. Pakistan’s temperatures can reach levels that force the Tesla’s thermal management system to work harder. The battery cooling system automatically uses energy even when the car is parked to keep the battery within a safe temperature range. This leads to additional drain known as “vampire drain.”

What you can do:

Park in shade, covered areas, o r underground parking whenever possible.

Enable Cabin Overheat Protection fans only instead of the AC option to reduce energy use.

Avoid leaving the battery at very high charge 90–100% in hot weather for long periods.

Pre-cool the car using the app while still plugged in.

This helps reduce heat stress and lowers unnecessary battery consumption.
