Why is the fuel economy of my Tiggo 4 Pro worse than expected?
Why is the fuel economy of my Tiggo 4 Pro worse than expected?
I bought a Tiggo 4 Pro expecting reasonable fuel consumption, but after a few thousand kilometers I notice fuel usage seems higher — especially during city driving. The manufacturer’s claimed efficiency seems optimistic. Could this be due to sensor o r engine‑tuning issues like a faulty air‑flow o r oxygen sensor, heavy traffic/road conditions, o r maybe transmission/gearbox inefficiency in stop‑and‑go traffic in Pakistan? What should I check to figure out why I’m getting poor mileage compared to expectations?

Gari Master - on 06 Dec 2025 10:55:05 amPossible Reasons:
Driving conditions & habits: Heavy city traffic, frequent stop‑and‑go driving, hard acceleration and braking all reduce fuel efficiency, more than what official specs assume.

Maintenance issues: Dirty air filters, old engine oil, poorly maintained engine o r transmission — these can reduce efficiency significantly.

Tyres, inflation and suspension: Wrong tyre pressures o r poorly aligned suspension can cause extra drag/resistance and hurt mileage.

Load and use of AC / accessories: Carrying heavy loads passengers/gear, frequent use of air‑conditioning common in hot Pakistani weather will consume more fuel.
What to Check:
Clean o r replace air filter, check oil and engine tune‑up.
Make sure tyre pressure and wheel alignment are correct.
Drive more smoothly gentle acceleration/braking especially in bumper‑to‑bumper traffic.
Compare fuel‑economy over several trips city vs highway rather than one‑off trips to get a realistic average.
Real‑World Feedback:
Owners in Pakistan report real‑world mileage around 12–14 km/l city and mixed usage, which is reasonable for a compact‑SUV with a turbo engine — but achieving the highest claimed economy requires careful driving and good maintenance
