Why is the MG HS child lock o r rear door not locking properly?

I’ve enabled the child lock on the rear doors, but sometimes the door still opens from the inside. Also, there are times when the rear doors don’t respond to the central lock command. Could this be a fault in the electronic child lock system? Has anyone else in Pakistan faced similar rear door locking problems?

This is another issue seen especially in Pakistani MG HS units with electronic child lock systems.

Possible reasons:

Faulty child lock actuators on rear doors — these are small motors that electronically engage/disengage the lock.

Software bugs may prevent the child lock setting from applying consistently.

Moisture o r dust inside the door may affect electronic components, especially in cities with bad weather sealing o r after car washes.

What you can do:

Toggle the child lock option in the car settings again and test both rear doors.

Have the door panels opened and actuators inspected at a service center.

If the child lock fails intermittently, insist on a warranty replacement of the faulty components.
