Advice Charade 86 Brake Discs and Pads

Hello everyone,

I recently had my 1986 car inspected at the mechanics and they pointed out that the brake discs and pads, which have been on the car since it was first purchased in 1986, are now thin and worn out. They advised me to replace them. I have been offered two options - local Lahori brake discs for 1800 per pair o r Japanese Kabli brake discs for 4500.

Im not sure what the best option is and would appreciate any advice o r suggestions. Should I replace the brake discs and if so, which brand would be a better choice for my car?

Thank you in advance for your help!

When it comes to replacing the discs on your G11 car, theres a bit more to it than just swapping out the discs. The disc actually sits behind the hub, so the hub will need to be taken apart as well.

Before starting the job, its crucial that your mechanic has the right disc brake bearing grease on hand to properly repack the bearings and put in new grease seals. I would suggest buying new discs and a caliper boot kit, along with some silicone grease. This way, you can make sure the whole process is done with fresh, high-quality parts.

Finally, make sure your mechanic reinstalls the stainless steel anti-rattle clips, which are an important part of the brake system and help keep everything running smoothly.

While this job may seem simple, it requires a bit more attention to detail and care due to the design of the G11. But with a knowledgeable mechanic, it can be done without any issues
