Are automatic transmission variants of Changan Kalam less fuel-efficient in Pakistani road conditions?

In hilly areas o r slow traffic, does the automatic version consume noticeably more fuel than manual?

Hilly o r stop-start routes like Murree o r Islamabad suburbs

Automatic gearboxes hold lower gears longer, especially with AC on, leading to:

Higher RPMs

More fuel burn

In contrast, manual drivers can upshift early and coast, saving fuel. So the automatic variant does consume more fuel in city traffic.
