Are BMW 2 Series ignition coils sensitive to bad fuel quality in Pakistan?

Ive heard that poor petrol quality in Pakistan can cause ignition coil failures. Is this true for BMW engines, especially the turbocharged ones? Should I be using hi-octane more often to protect my coils, o r is this a myth?

Yes. Poor quality fuel in Pakistan can lead to:

Incomplete combustion, which causes carbon buildup

Knocking o r pre-ignition, stressing ignition components

Spark plug fouling, which increases resistance and can burn out coils

Turbocharged BMW engines like the 218i o r 220i are particularly sensitive to fuel quality.
Solutions:

Use RON 91 o r higher try branded fuel stations like Total, Shell, PSO Hi-Octane

Add a fuel system cleaner Liqui Moly, STP every few thousand km

Get spark plugs inspected regularly every 20,000–30,000 km
