Are rust and corrosion common issues for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class body in Pakistan?

Despite being a premium German vehicle, some owners in coastal o r humid regions of Pakistan like Karachi o r Lahore in monsoon season report rust forming on wheel arches, underbody, o r door edges. Is this due to poor drainage, salt exposure, o r lack of protective coating? How can owners detect early signs and prevent long-term corrosion damage?

Yes, rust can be an issue in humid coastal regions like Karachi o r during the monsoon season in cities with poor drainage. While Mercedes uses galvanized steel and protective coatings, rust may still occur on the underbody, wheel wells, and door edges—especially if the car is exposed to standing water, salt air, o r is rarely washed during the rainy season.
