“Brake Pedal Feels Soft o r Spongy in Haval H6 — Normal o r a Safety Concern?”

A few Haval H6 owners have reported that their brake pedal feels unusually soft, requiring extra pressure to stop the car. Could this be air trapped in the brake lines, a fluid issue, o r wear in the brake pads o r master cylinder? How can I safely diagnose and fix this problem in Pakistan where Haval service centers are still limited?

A soft/spongy brake pedal is not normal and is a safety concern — it indicates some malfunction in the hydraulic system o r brake components. For the H6, potential causes include:

Air trapped in brake lines o r calipers especially if pads/rotors were replaced and system not bled properly.

Brake fluid contamination/wear o r the brake fluid level being low.

Worn o r faulty master cylinder o r brake booster vacuum pump especially if brake assist vacuum pump is misbehaving.

Pad/rotor/caliper condition such that the pad‑rotor contact is not firm for example, uneven wear o r caliper sticking.
