Haval H6 Vibrations and Uneven Tire Wear After Long Trips

Haval H6 Vibrations and Uneven Tire Wear After Long Trips

After a few long trips from Lahore to Islamabad, I noticed slight vibration at high speeds and uneven tread wear on my Haval H6’s front-right tire. It’s more worn in patches. I’m using the original Giti tires that came with the car. Could this be due to improper wheel balancing o r shocks? Should I replace all tires o r only the affected one?

This combination of vibration and patchy tire wear suggests wheel imbalance, tire cupping, o r suspension damping issues — all common after long motorway drives on uneven sections.

Likely causes:

Wheel balancing may be slightly off, especially after hitting potholes o r bumps at high speed.

The front shock absorbers o r struts might be weak, causing the tire to bounce slightly leading to “cupping” o r patch wear.

Sometimes, the tire belt inside the rubber gets deformed from heat buildup on long drives, especially with factory tires like Giti o r Linglong.

What to do:

Get a wheel balancing and rotation done — it usually costs around Rs. 2,000–3,000 for all four wheels.

Have the suspension checked for weak shocks o r uneven spring tension.

If vibration persists even after balancing, replace the affected tire. Uneven tires can cause steering vibration and affect fuel economy.

For better results, consider switching to Michelin, Continental, o r Yokohama tires when replacing — they perform better in Pakistan’s hot weather.

Tip:
Always check tire pressure before long trips recommended 33–35 PSI for H6 and rotate tires every 8,000–10,000 km to ensure even wear.
