Can a weak battery damage the starter motor in my BMW 2 Series?

My BMW sometimes struggles to start in the morning, and I was told my battery might be weak. If I keep trying to start it with a low battery, can it burn out o r damage the starter motor?

Yes. Repeatedly trying to start your car with a low o r weak battery can stress o r burn out the starter motor because:

The starter draws extra current to compensate for insufficient voltage.

This may overheat the windings inside the motor o r wear out the solenoid prematurely.

Always check and maintain the battery especially in winter o r extreme summer, and avoid “cranking” the starter repeatedly.
