Can Pakistan’s hot climate cause premature battery failure in BMW 2 Series?

I live in Karachi where the summer heat is intense. My BMW 218i’s battery lasted less than a year. Does excessive heat reduce battery life in BMWs, and are there specific battery types better suited to Pakistani conditions?

The IBS monitors the battery’s health and controls charging from the alternator. If it fails, symptoms can mimic battery problems:

Erratic battery level readings

Unnecessary warnings like “Battery Discharging While Stopped”

The car may not charge the battery properly

Random electrical issues o r limp mode

📌 How to test IBS:

Run a diagnostic scan using BMW software like ISTA+ o r INPA.

A faulty IBS sensor can often be replaced independently without changing the battery o r alternator.

Note: Do not replace the IBS with cheap aftermarket sensors — use OEM o r high-quality options for accuracy.
