Can poor fuel quality in Pakistan damage the catalytic converter in my BMW 2 Series?

I mostly fill my BMW 218i from local petrol stations, and I’ve heard bad fuel can harm the catalytic converter. How does low-quality fuel affect the converter, and what signs should I watch for?

catalytic converter by:

Causing incomplete combustion, leading to carbon deposits clogging the converter.

Introducing contaminants like lead o r sulfur that poison the catalyst materials.

Causing excessive unburnt fuel to enter the exhaust, overheating and damaging the converter.

Using reputable fuel stations and regular engine tune-ups can reduce these risks.
