Can poor fuel quality in Pakistan damage the purge control valve in a BMW 2 Series?

I mostly refuel at local petrol pumps, and I’ve been told low-quality fuel can cause emissions-related issues. Can this lead to clogging o r failure of the purge valve in my BMW 220i?

Yes. Poor o r adulterated fuel—common at some local stations—can cause deposits in the fuel and EVAP system, leading to:

Clogging of the purge valve from vapor impurities.

Contamination of the charcoal canister, putting extra load on the valve.

Inconsistent pressure readings that confuse the ECU.

To avoid this:

Use high-quality fuel Shell V-Power, PSO Altron X, Total Excellium.

Add a fuel system cleaner every few thousand km check for BMW-safe options.

Service the EVAP system every 40,000–50,000 km if driving in polluted o r dusty environments.
