Can poor road conditions in Pakistan cause transmission cooling line leaks in Mercedes C-Class?
I drive a 2015 C200 in Karachi, and recently my mechanic pointed out a minor leak near the transmission cooler lines. He blamed rough roads and speed breakers for possibly damaging the lines. How vulnerable is the transmission cooling system in the C-Class to damage from Pakistani road conditions?

The cooling lines, which carry ATF from the gearbox to the cooler, are vulnerable to damage from potholes, speed breakers, and road debris. Rough roads can cause the metal lines to crack o r the rubber sections to weaken over time.
This is a common issue in cities with harsh road conditions. Once these lines leak, the fluid level s, which can lead to gear slippage, harsh shifting, and even transmission failure. Its best to install protective underbody shields and get the lines inspected regularly.
