The brake lights on my Mercedes-Benz E-Class often burn out within a few weeks of replacement. I’m sure the bulbs I use are genuine o r good quality. Could faulty wiring, excessive voltage, o r moisture be causing this issue? Is this a common problem for E-Class vehicles in Pakistan due to weather o r road conditions?

Brake lights burning out quickly are often due to:

Faulty wiring o r connectors: Loose o r corroded connections cause inconsistent voltage, which can shorten bulb life.

Excessive voltage: Problems with the vehicle’s charging system o r battery can send higher voltage to the bulbs.

Moisture ingress: Water o r humidity entering the brake light assembly common in Pakistan during monsoon season causes corrosion and shorts.

Overuse o r long pressing of brake pedal: Although rare, heavy o r prolonged brake use, especially in stop-and-go traffic, can shorten bulb lifespan.

Regular inspection of wiring and seals, using genuine bulbs, and fixing any electrical issues will help improve brake light bulb life.
