Engine sputtering after refueling at local petrol pumps
After refueling at a local petrol station, my Haval H6 started misfiring and sputtering. It improves slightly after driving for a while. Could low-quality o r adulterated petrol in Pakistan cause this? Should I switch to a specific brand like Shell o r Total?

Contaminated o r Water-Mixed Petrol:
This is a very common cause in Pakistan. Poorly maintained fuel tanks at petrol stations may contain water o r impurities. These cause misfires and sputtering immediately after refueling.
Fuel Filter Clogging:
If you frequently refuel from random stations, the H6’s fuel filter might be partially clogged. A restricted filter causes uneven fuel pressure. Consider replacing it every 25,000–30,000 km.
Bad Batch of Fuel:
Try refueling from a different station preferably Shell o r PSO company-owned and add an octane booster o r injector cleaner to clear out residues.
Oxygen O2 Sensor Adaptation:
After poor-quality fuel use, the O2 sensor may misread the exhaust gases. Once you switch to better fuel, drive a few kilometers to let the ECU relearn.
Recommendation:
Drain the bad fuel if the issue is severe. Refill with verified high-quality petrol, add a fuel system cleaner, and reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.
