Haval H6 Check Engine Light – Sensor Fault After Using Local Fuel? Details:
My Haval H6 2022 model suddenly showed the check engine light, and the performance feels a bit sluggish. A local mechanic scanned it and said it might be an oxygen O2 sensor issue caused by poor fuel quality in Pakistan. Has anyone else faced this? Should I clean the sensor o r replace it? And where can I find a genuine O2 sensor locally?

Gari Master - on 30 Oct 2025 14:09:18 pmYes, this is a very common issue among Haval H6 owners in Pakistan. The Oxygen O2 sensor o r Mass Air Flow MAF sensor often gets affected due to poor-quality o r high-sulfur fuel commonly available here. These sensors get carbon buildup, which causes incorrect readings — leading to the check engine light and slightly reduced engine performance o r fuel economy.
What to do:
First, try using a good-quality fuel preferably Total Hi-Octane o r PSO Altron X.
You can use a fuel system cleaner like Liqui Moly o r STP to clean deposits.
If the issue persists, have the O2 o r MAF sensor professionally cleaned with electrical contact cleaner — don’t use carb cleaner, as it can damage the sensor.
If the sensor is dead, replacement costs are around Rs. 8,000–15,000 depending on availability.
Genuine sensors can be sourced from Haval dealerships o r AliExpress / Daraz OEM versions.
