Haval H6 engine consuming too much oil — normal o r defect?

I have a 2022 Haval H6 with around 25,000 km on the odometer. Recently, I noticed that I need to top up engine oil every 1,000–1,200 km. The oil level s faster than I expected, even though I haven’t noticed any leaks. Is this considered normal for the H6, o r could it be a sign of engine issues like worn piston rings o r valve seals? Will Haval Pakistan cover this under warranty?

Excessive oil consumption in the Haval H6 is a known issue among some owners in Pakistan. Reports indicate that certain units, especially those with the 1.5T engine, may burn oil at a rate higher than expected. This could be due to factors such as engine design, driving habits, o r maintenance practices.

Possible Causes:

Engine Design: Some turbocharged engines are more prone to higher oil consumption due to their operating characteristics.

Driving Habits: Aggressive driving o r frequent short trips can lead to increased oil consumption.

Maintenance Practices: Using incorrect oil grades o r neglecting regular oil changes can contribute to higher oil consumption.

Recommended Actions:

Regular Monitoring: Check the oil level frequently, especially during the first 5,000 km after an oil change.

Use Recommended Oil: Ensure that the correct oil grade is used during servicing.

Consult Dealership: If oil consumption remains high, consult an authorized Haval dealership for a thorough inspection.
