Haval H6 headlight bulb keeps burning out every few months – what’s the reason?
I have a 2022 Haval H6 1.5T and my right headlight bulb has burned out twice in the past six months. I’m using the same type of bulb recommended in the manual. The workshop said it could be a voltage fluctuation issue o r moisture inside the headlight housing. I’ve noticed some fogging inside the headlight after rain o r a car wash. Could that be what’s damaging the bulbs? Are LED conversion kits a better solution for Pakistani conditions, o r should I stick to the stock halogens?

Gari Master - on 25 Oct 2025 16:35:54 pmThis is a fairly common issue among Haval H6 owners in Pakistan, especially in humid cities like Karachi and Lahore. The main causes are usually moisture buildup inside the headlight o r unstable voltage from the alternator.
Here’s what to check:
Moisture o r Fogging:
The H6 headlights are known to fog up slightly after rain o r a wash. That moisture causes early bulb failure.
Check if the headlight rubber seal behind the bulb is cracked o r loose — that’s usually the culprit.
Dry out the headlight using a hair dryer o r silica gel pack, then reseal the cap with silicone if necessary.
Voltage Test:
Ask an electrician to test voltage at the headlight socket with the engine running. Anything over 14.4V can shorten bulb life.
Bulb Type:
Stick to Osram o r Philips bulbs Made in Germany — they handle heat and voltage fluctuations better than cheaper local o r Chinese ones.
If you’re switching to LEDs, make sure they’re CANBUS-compatible, otherwise the car might throw a headlight error o r flicker.
Many H6 owners have fixed this issue permanently by replacing the headlight rubber seals and using high-quality branded bulbs.
