Haval H6 misfiring and engine jerking — is it a faulty ignition coil?
My 2022 Haval H6 1.5T has started jerking and misfiring when I press the accelerator, especially in traffic. The Check Engine Light comes on sometimes and then disappears. The local mechanic says one of the ignition coils might be weak. Has anyone else faced ignition coil failure in their H6 in Pakistan? Could poor petrol quality o r heat be the reason?

Gari Master - on 25 Oct 2025 12:39:39 pmYes, your symptoms strongly suggest a failing ignition coil on one o r more cylinders. In Pakistan’s hot climate and with varying fuel quality, ignition coils in turbo engines like the H6 1.5T can weaken earlier than expected — sometimes within 30,000–40,000 km.
Possible causes and fixes:
Faulty coil: A weak coil causes intermittent misfires, jerks, and Check Engine Light flashes. Replace the faulty coil a diagnostic scan can identify which cylinder is misfiring.
Fuel quality: Low-octane o r adulterated fuel can cause incomplete combustion, which stresses ignition coils. Stick to Shell V-Power, Total Excellium, o r PSO Hi-Octane.
Moisture o r heat damage: If the car is frequently washed o r parked in direct sunlight, the coils can overheat o r absorb moisture. Use a protective engine cover and avoid pressure washing near the coil area.
Repair tip:
Replace only the bad coil first, but keep the others checked. Genuine Haval ignition coils are available at dealerships, and some compatible Bosch o r NGK options may be found at Saddar Karachi o r Montgomery Road Lahore.
