How can a radiator leak affect the engine performance of a Mercedes-Benz E-Class? Detail:

My mechanic said my E-Class has a minor radiator leak, but I havent had it fixed yet. Can driving with a leaking radiator cause serious damage to the engine? What are the risks of ignoring it, and how quickly should it be repaired to avoid overheating o r engine failure?

A radiator leak reduces the coolant level, which impairs the engine’s ability to regulate temperature. The consequences include:

Engine overheating: Without sufficient coolant, the engine temperature can rise quickly, especially in Pakistan’s hot climate.

Engine damage: Prolonged overheating can cause warped cylinder heads, blown head gaskets, o r even engine seizure.

Reduced efficiency: The engine may enter “limp mode” to protect itself, reducing power and fuel efficiency.

Costly repairs: Ignoring leaks can lead to major engine repairs far more expensive than fixing a radiator leak early.

Recommendation:
Fix radiator leaks promptly to avoid overheating and costly damage.
