Heres a simple distinction:
Issue Sign
Oil burning Blue smoke from exhaust, especially during cold start o r acceleration
Oil leakage Wet spots under engine o r oily residue on engine block/pan
Both Oil level s quickly, no visible leak but also no smoke light leak + light burn

Many drivers and even mechanics fail to check these signs, leading to delayed diagnosis.
