How does a blocked cabin air filter affect AC performance in my BMW 2 Series?

The AC in my BMW 220i feels weak and doesnt cool as well as it used to, especially during traffic jams in Karachi. A friend suggested checking the cabin filter. Can a dirty cabin air filter cause reduced airflow and cooling?

The cabin air filter cleans the air entering the vehicle’s interior. When it’s clogged with dust, pollen, and debris common in Pakistani cities, it restricts airflow, causing:

Reduced AC airflow and cooling efficiency.

Unpleasant odors o r musty smells inside the cabin.

Increased strain on the blower motor, potentially shortening its life.

Recommendation: Replace the cabin air filter every 12,000 to 15,000 km, o r once a year, especially if you drive in highly polluted o r dusty areas.
