Is bad fuel quality in Pakistan causing engine sputtering in my C-Class? Detail:

I’ve noticed my 2014 C200 starts to sputter o r misfire occasionally after refueling from certain petrol pumps in Karachi. It clears up after a while. Some people say it’s due to low-quality fuel available locally. Can bad fuel actually cause sputtering o r damage to the engine in these cars?

es, poor fuel quality is a common reason for engine sputtering in Mercedes C-Class vehicles in Pakistan. Many local fuel stations sell low-octane o r adulterated petrol, which can cause:

Incomplete combustion

Engine knocking

Dirty fuel injectors

To reduce the problem:

Use reputable petrol stations

Occasionally add fuel system cleaner

Avoid cheap fuel deals that might contain water o r kerosene

Using RON 97 Hi-Octane fuel, when available, is ideal for turbocharged o r Kompressor models. Poor fuel quality can also damage sensors and catalytic converters over time.
