Is it safe to delay replacing a clogged fuel filter in my BMW 2 Series in Pakistan?

My mechanic mentioned the fuel filter might be dirty, but I’ve postponed the replacement due to cost. Could this lead to serious problems like engine misfiring o r stalling? How often should it be changed in Pakistani fuel conditions?

Delaying fuel filter replacement is not advisable. A clogged fuel filter restricts fuel flow, which can cause:

Engine misfires, hesitation, o r stalling.

Difficulty starting the engine.

Increased wear on the fuel pump as it works harder.

Given Pakistan’s varying fuel quality, changing the fuel filter every 40,000 to 50,000 km is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent damage to expensive fuel injection components.
