Is it safe to drive my BMW 2 Series with a loose fuel filler cap o r cracked fuel hose?

My mechanic told me the fuel filler cap on my BMW 220i is loose and the hose near the fuel filter seems cracked. Can I continue driving the car until I get it repaired, o r is this a fire hazard?

Driving with a loose fuel filler cap can cause:

Fuel vapor leaks triggering the check engine light EVAP system error

Reduced fuel efficiency due to evaporation

Potentially harmful fumes entering the atmosphere

Driving with a cracked fuel hose is more dangerous because it can lead to:

Fuel leakage under the car, which is a fire hazard

Engine performance issues due to inconsistent fuel pressure

Safety advice:

Fix a loose fuel cap immediately—replacement caps are inexpensive

Avoid driving if a fuel hose is cracked o r leaking get it replaced ASAP

Always prioritize fuel system repairs to avoid accidents
