Is the Changan Kalam engine reliable over the long term 100,000+ km in Pakistans tough commercial usage?

Owners in transport businesses question the durability of the engine. Are early signs of engine wear common?

Reliability is questionable. Under controlled use, it may last, but for:

Daily cargo hauling

High-mileage urban delivery

Overloaded operations

Users have reported:

Early piston wear

Timing chain/belt noise

Oil pump o r valve noise by 70,000–80,000 km

It lacks the rugged longevity of older Suzuki o r Toyota commercial engines unless maintained meticulously. It’s more of a light-duty commercial vehicle, not built for abuse.
