Is the turbocharger related to engine sputtering in BMW 2 Series?

Sometimes when I accelerate quickly, the engine sputters briefly before picking up speed. Could this be a turbo-related issue, like a faulty boost sensor o r wastegate, o r is it more likely related to ignition?

Possibly. If your car:

Sputters under boost

Has slow throttle response

Makes hissing o r fluttering noises

…it could be:

Faulty turbo boost pressure sensor

Sticking wastegate

Small boost leaks in intercooler hoses common in Pakistan due to heat and aging rubber

Have the system pressure-tested and get the turbo control system scanned.
