Mixing regular water with coolant may cause rust and corrosion inside the radiator. Are local workshops using the right coolant mix?

Yes — this is a major issue.

Many workshops mix coolant with tap water, which:

Contains minerals and impurities that corrode metal fins and aluminum core.

Leaves calcium/lime deposits, blocking coolant passages.

Low-quality coolants degrade faster and offer less corrosion protection.

➡️ Only use pre-mixed, branded coolant like Caltex, Havoline, ZIC. Avoid topping off with plain water.
