My BMW 2 Series takes too long to engage reverse—what could be the issue?

When I shift my 2020 BMW 2 Series into reverse, it takes 2–3 seconds to engage. This delay is becoming annoying, especially in tight parking spots in Karachi. Could this be a software calibration issue, o r is the transmission failing?

Delayed engagement when shifting into reverse can be attributed to low transmission fluid levels, worn-out solenoids, o r issues with the mechatronic unit. In Pakistan, where driving conditions can be harsh, its essential to ensure that the transmission fluid is at the correct level and in good condition. Regular maintenance and timely fluid changes can help in preventing such delays.
