I noticed that the engine temperature gauge on my Mercedes E-Class W211 rises quickly during city driving in Karachi, even though the coolant level is fine. What could cause overheating issues in these conditions? Is it related to radiator clogging, thermostat failure, o r water pump problems common in Pakistan?

Engine overheating despite proper coolant levels is often caused by:

Radiator clogging: Dust, sludge, o r corrosion can block the radiator passages, reducing cooling efficiency.

Thermostat failure: A stuck thermostat prevents coolant circulation, causing overheating.

Water pump issues: A faulty o r worn water pump can fail to circulate coolant properly.

Cooling fan malfunction: Electric fans might not switch on due to sensor o r relay failure.

Head gasket leak: In severe cases, a blown head gasket can cause overheating even with normal coolant levels.

What to do:

Flush the radiator and cooling system.

Test and replace the thermostat if faulty.

Inspect the water pump and cooling fans.

Get a pressure test done to check for head gasket leaks.
