Rear door locks of my Kia Stonic 2021 won’t lock/unlock with central locking – is this a common issue? Detail:
My 2021 Kia Stonic has developed an issue where the rear doors don’t always lock o r unlock using the central locking button o r remote. The front doors work fine. This started a few months ago and has become worse during the rainy season in Lahore. Is this a known issue with the Stonic in Pakistan? Could it be a problem with the door actuators o r moisture affecting the wiring? Would appreciate any suggestions o r solutions before going to the dealership.

Yes, this issue has been reported by several Kia Stonic owners in Pakistan, particularly during monsoon o r high-humidity seasons like in Lahore and Islamabad.
Possible causes include:
Failing rear door lock actuators – they’re more prone to failure over time o r due to water exposure.
Moisture ingress in the door panels o r wiring harness, which can interrupt electrical signals.
A faulty Body Control Module BCM, though that’s less common.
What you should do:
Ask a trusted mechanic o r Kia dealership to inspect the rear door actuators—they may need to be replaced.
Check for any water leakage o r dampness inside the door panels.
Make sure the child lock isnt affecting electronic lock operation it sometimes causes confusion.
If under warranty, request a free actuator replacement—some customers in Pakistan have successfully claimed this.
Its a fixable problem, but delaying repairs may lead to complete failure of door locking on affected doors.
